Note: Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We never see or store your credit card information, billing address, or other payment details.
2.4 Technical Information
We automatically collect certain technical information to provide and improve the app:
- Device Information: Device type, model, operating system version
- App Version: Which version of Sudoku Slice you're using
- Session Data: App launches, session duration, feature usage
- Crash Reports: Error logs and crash data to fix bugs

We use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand how users interact with the app:

4.1 Local Storage (Your Device)
Hive Database (Unencrypted):
We store data locally on your device using Hive, a lightweight database. Important: This data is stored unencrypted in plain text on your device.
Local data includes:
- Game progress and saves
- Settings and preferences
- Cached statistics
- Theme selections
Security Note: Anyone with physical access to your device or device backups may be able to access this data. We recommend:
- Using your device's built-in security (passcode, biometric lock)
- Encrypting your device backups
- Not sharing your device with untrusted users
Data Persistence:
- Local data remains on your device until you delete the app
- Clearing app data or cache will delete local storage
- Uninstalling the app removes all local data
4.2 Cloud Storage (Firebase)
We use Google Firebase services to store and sync your data in the cloud:

- Stores your account credentials and authentication tokens

Cloud Firestore:
- Stores your game statistics, achievements, and purchases

5. Data Retention
We retain your data for different periods depending on the type:
5.1 Daily Statistics
- Premium Users: Up to 5 years of daily statistics
- Free Users: Up to 1 year of daily statistics
- Older statistics are automatically deleted to optimize storage
5.2 Account Data
- Active Accounts: Retained as long as your account exists
- Deleted Accounts: Account credentials deleted immediately; some data may persist (see Section 7.2)
- Inactive Accounts: We do not automatically delete inactive accounts
5.3 Purchase Records
- Purchase verification data retained indefinitely to honor lifetime purchases
- Required to restore Premium features on new devices
5.4 Analytics Data
- Aggregated analytics retained for up to 14 months (Firebase default)
- Individual session data may be retained longer in aggregated form
5.5 Local Device Data
- Retained until you delete the app or clear app data
- Not automatically synchronized to the cloud unless you sign in

We receive only the information you authorize (email, name, profile photo). We do not have access to your Google or Apple account passwords.

Important: When you use leaderboards, the following information is visible to other players:
- Your username or display name
- Your scores and rankings
- Your achievement badges (if displayed)
Privacy Options:
- You can choose your display name when setting up your account
- You can opt out of leaderboards by not submitting scores (feature-dependent)
- Leaderboard participation may be required for certain competitive features
6.5 No Data Sale or Advertising
We want to be clear:
- We do not sell your data to data brokers, advertisers, or third parties
- We do not use advertising networks in Sudoku Slice
- We do not share your data for marketing purposes by other companies

7.1 Access Your Data

7.2 Delete Your Data
You have the right to delete your account and data.
To Delete Your Account:
- Open Sudoku Slice
- Go to Settings > Account
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion
What Gets Deleted:
- ✅ Your account credentials (immediate)
- ✅ Firebase Authentication data (immediate)
- ✅ Local data on your device (immediate)
What Persists:
- ⚠️ Cloud data in Firestore is not automatically deleted
- ⚠️ Leaderboard entries may remain (anonymized)
- ⚠️ Purchase records retained for legal compliance
- ⚠️ Aggregated analytics (anonymized)
To Request Complete Cloud Data Deletion:
- Email hello@daatstudio.dev with subject "Delete My Data"
- Include your account email and user ID
- We will manually delete your Firestore data within 30 days
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
Note: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel ongoing subscriptions (though Sudoku Slice currently has no subscriptions). You must cancel subscriptions separately through Apple or Google.
7.3 Export Your Data (Data Portability)
You have the right to receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
How to Request:

- Include your account email and user ID
- We will provide your data in JSON format within 30 days

7.4 Opt-Out of Analytics
You can disable Firebase Analytics tracking.

- Open Sudoku Slice

- Toggle "Analytics" off
Limitations:
- This disables most analytics tracking
- Some essential technical data may still be collected (crash reports for bug fixes)
- Opting out does not delete previously collected analytics data
7.5 Withdraw Consent
You can withdraw consent for data processing at any time by:
- Disabling analytics in Settings
- Deleting your account
- Uninstalling the app
Note: Withdrawing consent may limit app functionality (e.g., no cloud sync, no leaderboards).
8. Children's Privacy
Sudoku Slice is rated for ages 4+ and is not specifically directed at children under 13 years of age.
Our Approach:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent
- We do not require children to provide more information than necessary to use the app
- Parents may create accounts on behalf of children using Anonymous sign-in (no personal data)
For Parents:
If you believe your child under 13 has provided personal information to us without your consent:

- We will promptly delete the account and associated data
Anonymous Play:
Children can use Sudoku Slice without creating an account by using Anonymous sign-in, which does not collect email, name, or other identifying information.

- Disable analytics in Settings > Privacy
- Supervise in-app purchases (use parental controls on your device)
9. International Users
Sudoku Slice is operated from the United Kingdom and is available worldwide.

- Do not jailbreak (iOS) or root (Android) your device

No System is 100% Secure:

Sudoku Slice is a mobile app, not a website. We do not use cookies.

We do not use your Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android) for any purpose. Sudoku Slice does not display advertisements.
