1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Sudoku Slice, a mobile puzzle game developed and operated by DaatStudio ("we," "us," or "our").
1.1 Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Sudoku Slice (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1.2 Age Requirements
You must be at least 4 years old to use Sudoku Slice. If you are under 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App and make in-app purchases.
For Parents/Guardians:
- You are responsible for monitoring your child's use of the App
- Use device parental controls to restrict in-app purchases
- Review our Privacy Policy regarding children's data

- If you do not agree to changes, stop using the App and delete your account

2. Account Registration and Security
2.1 Creating an Account
You may use Sudoku Slice with or without an account:
Account Sign-In Options:
- Google Sign-In: Use your existing Google account
- Apple Sign-In: Use your Apple ID
- Email/Password: Create an account with your email
- Anonymous: Play without personal information (limited features)
Account Requirements:
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You may only create one account per person
- You must not impersonate others or provide false information
2.2 Account Security
Your Responsibilities:
- Keep your account credentials confidential
- Use a strong, unique password (for email/password accounts)
- Enable two-factor authentication on your Google/Apple account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access: hello@daatstudio.dev
We are not responsible for:
- Unauthorized access due to your failure to protect credentials
- Loss of data due to account compromise
- Actions taken by others using your account
2.3 Account Termination
Your Right to Terminate:
- You may delete your account at any time via Settings > Account > Delete Account
- Account deletion is immediate and cannot be undone
- Some data may persist (see Privacy Policy Section 7.2)
Our Right to Terminate:
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse of the App or other users
- Chargebacks or payment disputes
- Extended inactivity (at our discretion)
Effect of Termination:
- You lose access to the App and your account
- Cloud-synced data may be deleted
- In-app purchases may be revoked (if terminated for cause)
- You must uninstall the App
3. License to Use the App
3.1 Grant of License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the App on devices you own or control
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
3.2 License Restrictions
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse Engineer: Decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the App
- Modify: Alter, modify, or create derivative works of the App
- Distribute: Copy, distribute, or sublicense the App to others
- Commercial Use: Use the App for commercial purposes or profit
- Automated Access: Use bots, scripts, or automation tools
- Cheating: Use hacks, exploits, or cheats to gain unfair advantages
- Remove Notices: Remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
- Circumvent Security: Bypass or circumvent security features or access controls
Violations may result in:
- Immediate account suspension or termination
- Revocation of in-app purchases
- Legal action for damages
3.3 Ownership
We Own:
- The App and all its content (code, designs, graphics, puzzles, algorithms)
- The Sudoku Slice name, logo, and trademarks
- The DaatStudio name, logo, and trademarks
- All intellectual property rights in the App
You Own:
- Your account data (game saves, statistics)
- Your user-generated content (if any)
You Grant Us:
- License to use your game data for leaderboards, analytics, and app improvements
- Right to display your username and scores on public leaderboards
- Right to use aggregated, anonymized data for any purpose
4. In-App Purchases
4.1 Purchase Terms
Sudoku Slice offers in-app purchases ("IAP") to enhance your experience.
Available Purchases:
- Premium Unlock: One-time purchase for lifetime premium features
- Theme Packs: Additional visual themes and color schemes
- Other Content: Additional puzzles, features, or customizations (may be added in future)
Purchase Characteristics:
- One-Time Purchases: Pay once, own forever (non-consumable)
- No Subscriptions: We do not offer recurring subscriptions
- Non-Transferable: Purchases tied to your account, not transferable to others
4.2 Premium Features
The Premium unlock includes (but is not limited to):
- Unlimited hints and undo
- Advanced statistics and analytics
- Extended daily statistics retention (5 years vs. 1 year)
- All current and future premium themes
- Priority customer support
- Ad-free experience (if ads are ever introduced)
- Access to beta features (at our discretion)
Premium Lifetime Access:
- Premium is a one-time purchase, not a subscription
- Access is lifetime and applies to your account
- Premium status syncs across all your devices (requires sign-in)
4.3 Payment Processing
Payments Processed By:
- iOS: Apple App Store (subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions)
- Android: Google Play Store (subject to Google's Terms of Service)
We Do Not Process Payments:
- We never see your credit card or payment information
- All payment data is handled by Apple or Google
- Payment methods available depend on your app store
- Billing disputes must be resolved with Apple or Google
Pricing:
- All prices displayed in your local currency
- Prices subject to change without notice
- Current prices shown before purchase
- Applicable taxes added at checkout by Apple/Google
4.4 Refunds
Our Refund Policy:
We generally do not offer refunds for in-app purchases, as all purchases are final once completed.
Exceptions (at our sole discretion):
- Duplicate purchases (accidental double-charge)
- Technical issues preventing access to purchased content
- Fraudulent purchases (with proof)

- Refunds granted by Apple/Google may result in revocation of purchased features
- Refund abuse may result in account termination
- Chargebacks may result in immediate account suspension
4.5 Restore Purchases
Restore Feature:
- Available in Settings > Purchases > Restore Purchases
- Restores all previous purchases linked to your account
- Works across devices (requires sign-in to same account)
- Free and unlimited restores
When to Restore:
- After reinstalling the App
- On a new device
- If premium features not appearing
- After switching accounts
Restore Troubleshooting:
- Ensure signed in to the same account used for purchase
- Ensure connected to the internet
- Verify purchase in App Store/Play Store purchase history

5. User Content and Conduct
5.1 Leaderboards
Public Display:
- Your username and scores may be displayed on public leaderboards
- Leaderboard entries are visible to all players
- Achievement badges may be displayed alongside your name
Leaderboard Rules:
- Usernames must not be offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate
- No impersonation of others or DaatStudio staff
- No advertising or promotional usernames
- Scores must be achieved through legitimate gameplay
Cheating and Manipulation:
- Use of hacks, bots, or exploits is strictly prohibited
- Manipulated scores will be removed
- Offending accounts will be banned
- We reserve the right to remove leaderboard entries at any time
Username Changes:
- You may change your username in Settings (if available)
- Previous leaderboard entries may retain old username
- Changes may take up to 24 hours to appear
5.2 Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Harassment: Harass, bully, or abuse other users
- Hate Speech: Use offensive, discriminatory, or hateful language
- Illegal Activity: Use the App for illegal purposes
- Spam: Send spam, advertisements, or promotional content
- Data Mining: Extract or scrape data from the App
- Security Violations: Attempt to hack, breach, or compromise the App
- Impersonation: Impersonate DaatStudio staff or other users
- False Information: Provide false or misleading information
- Multiple Accounts: Create multiple accounts to abuse features
- Exploit Bugs: Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for unfair advantage
Consequences:
- Warning or temporary suspension (first offense)
- Permanent account termination (repeat or severe offenses)
- Legal action for damages or illegal activity
5.3 Reporting Violations
If you encounter users violating these Terms:

We will investigate and take appropriate action.
6. Cloud Sync and Data
6.1 Cloud Features
Firebase Cloud Sync:
- Syncs your game data across devices
- Requires account sign-in (not available for Anonymous users)
- Uses Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud)
- Enabled automatically when signed in
Synced Data:
- Game statistics and history
- Achievement progress
- Settings and preferences
- Premium status and purchases
- Theme selections
Sync Limitations:
- Requires internet connection
- May experience delays during sync
- Conflicts resolved by most recent data (may cause data loss)
6.2 Data Loss Disclaimer
No Guarantee of Data Preservation:
While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee:
- ✅ 100% uptime or availability
- ✅ No data loss due to technical failures
- ✅ No data corruption
- ✅ No sync conflicts
Causes of Data Loss:
- Firebase outages or downtime
- Network connectivity issues
- Sync conflicts between devices
- Account deletion or termination
- App bugs or errors
- Device failure or loss
Your Responsibility:
- Regularly backup important data (e.g., screenshots of statistics)
- Do not rely solely on cloud sync
- We are not liable for lost data
Backup Recommendations:
- Play on a single primary device
- Avoid playing simultaneously on multiple devices
- Take screenshots of important milestones
- Export data periodically (via data access request)
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Ownership
DaatStudio Owns:
- All code, software, and algorithms in the App
- All puzzle content, including Sudoku puzzles and difficulty algorithms
- All graphics, designs, animations, and visual elements
- All audio, sound effects, and music
- The Sudoku Slice name, logo, and branding
- The DaatStudio name, logo, and branding
- All trademarks, service marks, and trade dress

7.2 Your License to Us
By using the App, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to:
- Use your game data for analytics and app improvement
- Display your username and scores on leaderboards
- Create aggregated, anonymized statistics
- Use gameplay data for marketing purposes (anonymized)
You Retain Ownership:
- You own your account data and game saves
- You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Privacy Policy)
7.3 Trademarks
"Sudoku Slice," "DaatStudio," and all related logos are trademarks of DaatStudio. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.
Prohibited Uses:
- Creating apps or products with similar names
- Using our logos for commercial purposes
- Implying endorsement or affiliation without permission
7.4 Copyright Infringement
If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright:

We will investigate and respond in accordance with applicable law.
8. Third-Party Services
8.1 Firebase (Google Cloud)
The App uses Firebase services (Google Cloud Platform) for:
- User authentication
- Cloud data storage (Firestore)
- Analytics and crash reporting

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We Disclaim All Warranties, Including:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Security or freedom from viruses
- Quality or performance
9.2 No Guarantees
We Do Not Guarantee:
- The App will meet your expectations
- The App will be available at all times
- The App will be error-free or bug-free
- Data will not be lost or corrupted
- Security breaches will not occur
- Third-party services (Firebase, Google, Apple) will function properly
9.3 Use at Your Own Risk
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Your use of the App is at your sole risk
- You are responsible for any damage to your device
- You are responsible for loss of data
- We are not liable for any harm resulting from use
9.4 No Medical or Health Claims
Sudoku Slice is for entertainment purposes only. We make no claims that the App:
- Improves cognitive function
- Prevents or treats medical conditions
- Provides health benefits
Do not rely on the App for medical advice or treatment.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Maximum Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
- (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR
- (B) £10 GBP
10.2 Excluded Damages
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
- Loss of data or content
- Loss of goodwill or reputation
- Personal injury or property damage
- Third-party claims
- Any damages arising from:
- Use or inability to use the App
- Unauthorized access to your account
- Data breaches or security failures
- Errors, bugs, or malfunctions
- Third-party services (Firebase, Google, Apple)
- Suspension or termination of your account
10.3 Legal Exceptions
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions:
- These limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law
- Your statutory rights are not affected
- You may have additional rights under consumer protection laws
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DaatStudio, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your Use of the App: Any use or misuse of the App by you
- Violation of Terms: Your breach of these Terms
- Violation of Law: Your violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Third-Party Rights: Your infringement of third-party intellectual property or privacy rights
- User Content: Any content you submit or display (e.g., leaderboard usernames)
- Negligence or Misconduct: Your negligent or willful misconduct
Your Obligations:
- Cooperate with our defense of any claims
- Pay all damages, settlements, and legal fees
- Not settle claims without our written consent
12. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to events beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, fires)
- War, terrorism, civil unrest
- Government actions or regulations
- Internet or telecommunications failures
- Third-party service outages (Firebase, Google, Apple)
- Power outages or infrastructure failures
- Pandemics or public health emergencies
- Labor disputes or strikes
Effect of Force Majeure:
- Performance obligations suspended during the event
- We will make reasonable efforts to resume service
- No liability for delays or failures caused by force majeure
13. Termination
13.1 User Termination
You may terminate your use of the App at any time by:
- Deleting your account (Settings > Account > Delete Account)
- Uninstalling the App from all your devices
Effect:
- Immediate loss of access to the App
- Local data deleted
- Cloud data may persist (see Privacy Policy)
- In-app purchases may be lost (no refunds)
13.2 Our Termination Rights
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abusive or harassing behavior
- Payment disputes or chargebacks
- Extended inactivity (at our discretion)
- Any reason or no reason (at our sole discretion)
Effect:
- Immediate revocation of access
- Deletion of account and cloud data
- Revocation of in-app purchases (if terminated for cause)
- No refunds for purchases
13.3 Survival
The following sections survive termination:
- Section 7 (Intellectual Property)
- Section 9 (Disclaimers)
- Section 10 (Limitation of Liability)
- Section 11 (Indemnification)

14. Updates and Changes
14.1 App Updates
We reserve the right to:
- Update, modify, or discontinue the App at any time
- Add or remove features
- Change pricing for in-app purchases
- Modify game content or algorithms
No Guarantee of Updates:
- We are not obligated to provide updates or support
- Updates may introduce bugs or break functionality
- Updates may require newer devices or OS versions
Automatic Updates:
- You may enable automatic updates in App Store settings
- Some updates may be required to continue using the App
- Refusal to update may result in limited functionality
14.2 Terms Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time:
- Changes effective immediately upon posting (unless otherwise stated)
- "Last Updated" date will be updated
- Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification
- Continued use constitutes acceptance

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
International Users:

15.3 Dispute Resolution Process

You must bring any claims within one (1) year of the event giving rise to the claim, or the claim is waived.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable:
- The invalid provision shall be severed
- Remaining provisions remain in full effect
- The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely matches the original intent
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DaatStudio regarding the App.
These Terms Supersede:
- All prior agreements or understandings
- Verbal or written representations
- Marketing materials or advertisements
Not Included in Agreement:
- Third-party terms (Firebase, Google, Apple)
- App Store terms (Apple, Google)

- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
- Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance
- Apple is not liable for any claims related to the App
19.2 Apple EULA
Your use of the App must comply with the App Store Terms of Service, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).
19.3 Third-Party Beneficiary
Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
19.4 Claims
In the event of third-party claims that the App infringes intellectual property:
- DaatStudio (not Apple) is responsible for investigation and defense
- Apple will notify DaatStudio of such claims

20.2 Google Play Terms
Your use of the App must comply with the Google Play Terms of Service.

21. General Provisions
21.1 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations at any time without notice.
